Commercial Bankers

John Marshall Bank seeks two Commercial Bankers to manage borrowing and depository relationships for business clients: one for the Montgomery County/Washington, DC region, and another for the Arlington/Alexandria region.

This position will also develop relationships necessary to facilitate sales growth.  Primary focus is on loan production and deposit growth.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Solicits, develops, and services a wide variety of working capital lines of credit, accounts receivable lines of credit, business term loans and/or real estate loans.
  • Coordinates with credit departments or underwriting analysis of applicant's financial data to evaluate credit worthiness.
  • Makes decisions and/or recommendations on new loan requests and renewals.
  • Participates with Sr. Officers on larger loans and lines of credit.
  • Provides financial advice to customers.
  • Ability to sell banking products and build relationships.
  • Provides customer service to commercial customers.
  • Typically responsible for loan portfolios $20MM to $50MM
  • Scope of position will vary based on the incumbent's area of emphasis on types of lending.
  • May be responsible for sourcing and developing prospects and new clients and selling various bank products/services. These services can include Commercial Loan products, Real Estate products, and SBA products/services.
  • Responsible for bank deposit growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in C & I lending position.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of CRE, C&I, and General Business
  • Strong credit and analytical skills
  • Proven leadership ability with excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Computer literate: Word, Excel, and ability to learn internal bank systems and platforms
  • Ability to identify, research, and solve problems and discrepancies
  • Strong work ethic, ability to work in a team environment, and driven to meet deadlines Ability to perform in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented.
  • The position demands a strong combination of interpersonal, analytical and decision-making skills as well as an ability to understand and communicate potential credit risks.

Loan Operations Specialist

John Marshall Bank is seeking an experienced professional to work in the loan operations area of its Credit Administration department. Responsibilities include daily processing of loan transactions, customer service, new account setup, system maintenance, balancing and reconciliation, statement processing, and other loan account servicing. Further includes support for loan documentation and review processes.

The position requires a minimum of 3 years experience with bank transaction processing and operations, preferably in a loan environment. We are looking for an individual with strong skills in transaction processing and customer service, solid personal computer skills, fine attention to detail, effective communications, and a superior ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.

Teller - Arlington Branch

Job Summary:

  • Performs basic teller functions to include processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments in a professional and courteous manner
  • Completes transactions according to established guidelines and meets service quality goals; complexity of transactions performed varies by the teller level and branch location
  • Actively participates in the sales campaigns by identifying sales referral opportunities and makes appropriate referral
  • May also complete additional account servicing functions

Required Skills:

  • Prior cash handling experience
  • Prior cash handling experience
  • Previous customer service skills to include effective communications skills and the ability to listen attentively and be responsive
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous teller or banking experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Previous retail sales experience
