Alexandria’s JMB Branch in the Community

Our Alexandria branch has been working with our community partners to get much needed funds out into the Alexandria community to assist households, businesses, and non-profits in financial need due to the effects of the pandemic.

The Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, in conjunction with the City of Alexandria, has sponsored grant funding for the City’s small businesses to assist in reopening after the shutdown due to the pandemic. The Bank worked with AEDP to quickly disburse $5.9 million in aid from the City of Alexandria and the federal CARES Act to support our small business community and community non-profits in two separate rounds of grant funding.

ACT of Alexandria has developed two grant programs. One of the programs provides food assistance to families in need as part of their Grocery Gift Card program. ACT has also established their Resilience Fund using CARES Act funds from the City and general community support.  This new Fund will support the health and sustainability of local nonprofit organizations that are addressing ongoing and emerging human service needs of City residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bank has worked with ACT to maximize FDIC coverage while these funds are on deposit and also to ensure these funds are quickly deployed to the organizations receiving grant awards.

ALIVE Inc., a community non-profit consortium of faith-based organizations, has been working in partnership with the City of Alexandria to provide rental assistance and food distribution throughout the pandemic to assist the financial challenges confronting families in the City.  We have worked with ALIVE to ensure timely deposits using Remote Deposit Capture as well as added FDIC coverage to assist ALIVE in its critical mission.

John Marshall Bank values our banking relationships with our community partners – AEDP, ACT, and ALIVE – and our other non-profit clients as they assist the Alexandria community throughout these trying times.
